Chapter Event – Hampton Roads

We will be having a chapter membership Zoom meeting on 21 June. The meeting will be dedicated to the 40th anniversary of NSL and the 80th anniversary of commissioning of USS Barb (SS 220) (actual commissioning July 8, 1942). Mr. Tim Richard will be our guest speaker. He will speak about the Barb’s WWII exploits and his affiliation with the crew. Mr. Richard’s father was a Barb crew member, serving with Admiral Fluckey, and was part of the raiding party that in July 1945 planted an explosive on Karafuto Island that destroyed a supply train. Mr. Richard has spoken on Barb and her crew to many interested groups.
